UPDATE: We asked to speak with the team about our concerns and were dismissed. We welcome the RH team to contact us at their earliest convenience.
My husband and I switched to Robert Hall & Associates for tax assistance after being referred to them, but our experience was disappointing. While filing our returns was straightforward, their support during a tax issue fell far short.
It took a week to receive clarifying questions, despite us providing all necessary data, including proof of IRS payment. They re-asked the same questions in follow-up emails and, even after the tax deadline passed, requested information we had already submitted—showcasing poor organization and attention to detail.
When we voiced frustration, we were met with dismissiveness. One accountant referred to our tax “issue” in quotation marks, highlighting their unprofessional attitude. Despite claiming to help, they ignored our request for a phone call and later claimed we hadn’t provided a receipt submitted on 11/8.
As non-tax experts, we relied on their guidance but received no clear communication or actionable support, leaving us to navigate the issue alone. To whomever reads this at Robert Hall & Associates, we have evidence of submitting all required information and were still left unsupported.
We’ll seek a new team next year—one that values its clients and communicates effectively.

Another year of tax submittal with Robert Hall and his expertise. I value the information he provides and manage my business accordingly. I also utilize the tax topics via Zoom and have found them to be very informational. I am very satisfied with their team of associates.

I am writing to express my deep frustration and disappointment regarding my recent experience.
I was looking forward to speaking with an associate from your team, and from the very beginning of our interaction, I encountered hostility and dismissive behavior, which left me shocked. To start, the associate I had set up my meeting with arrived 10 minutes late, showing a lack of respect for our scheduled meeting, that I had taken time off of my work to have. Throughout our conversation, I felt judged and unsupported.
As someone who is new to this process, I had several valid questions that I believed were important for me to understand. However, this associate refused to address my inquiries and laughed at me for asking.
At one point, she hung up on me, stating that “this is no longer fun for me.” I was under the impression that entrusting my finances to your care was a serious matter, not a source of personal entertainment.
I have never felt so degraded and judged in a professional setting. It is incredibly disappointing to be treated this way, especially after placing my trust and a significant amount of time and money in your hands. I then tried to speak with a Manager or “Boss” in regards to this matter but I was never called back. This experience has left me feeling as though I was set up to fail.
I hope you will take my concerns seriously and address the professionalism and communication standards within your team. Thank you.

Very frustrating experience on many fronts. They failed to make payments we agreed they were to make, missed key sections of tax code that ended up costing (and continue to cost me) penalties and time, and put the good standing of my business at risk. Getting in touch with them is extremely difficult, even as a multi-year client. At one point, as I was facing a state penalty as a result of their admitted delinquency (which it took them 7 months to resolve), the Chief of Staff assured me she would be available for my call anytime, and would follow up on the matter within 48 hours. 8 days later I was forced to follow up, and after leaving messages with two different assistants, she answered one of my calls and offered to schedule me an appointment with another tax pro the next day, with the excuse that he had been out of town for a week. This is an example of every interaction with this firm, with myriad permutations, from the Chief of Staff to every assistant. Nice people, terrible organization. They are disorganized, overly-bureaucratic, and most importantly they did not pay or file my taxes correctly, costing me time and money. I urge everyone, especially my fellow entertainment professionals, to avoid doing business with Robert Hall & Associates.
